Nambour Heights Bowls Club History
Nambour Heights Bowling Club (as it was then known) was established in 1967 as a result of the efforts of one man in particular, Con Daetz.
In the early 60’s there was significant development in Nambour and Nambour Heights and Con believed there was a need for another bowling club. Con donated the land, and went guarantor for the loan to build the club. Money was raised by raffles, and most of the work was conducted by working bees.
The green and clubhouse was officially opened on 7th December 1967, with 36 founding members, and the Ladies Bowls Club was officially opened on April 11th 1968 with 21 founding members. We have since gone from strength to strength.
Although still a small club we have over 70 bowling members & over 200 social members. The club is air conditioned and has gaming facilities including Keno. The Heights has always been a strong club with a dedicated membership and a reputation for being a friendly club, it has been that way since its foundation.
