Call Digby to check for vacancies as numbers are still somewhat restricted

Dear Members and visitors,
As some of you will now be aware Steve English has resigned as Club President due to his pending move to Victoria. Following a request from your committee I have agreed to take on the roll as President for the remainder of this term, until a new President is elected at our AGM.

It has been a difficult year thus far and I would like to thank the members of the committee for all their efforts during this time. Unfortunately it is not over yet. There is still a lot of work to be done and both mine and your committee’s objective is to ensure that our great little Club survives and comes through this troubled time with the strength to continue on for many years.

I welcome the assistance of Baz Neil who has a wealth of experience, he will be working to put plans in place to re-introduce some activities at our Club including both competition and social events which in turn will increase our revenue which due to the recent Covid crisis has been sadly lacking. We shall naturally have to work within the guidelines as laid out by the Qld Government. In order that all members are kept as up to date as possible with regards to the Club activities we shall be distributing bulletins to members via email. We recognise that not all members have email addresses and shall be contact those individuals by other means.

Digby will be keeping a close watch on changes in relation to the bar & restaurant restrictions so that you will also be made aware as these take place. It is hoped that in the not too distant future we shall be able to open our restaurant & conduct membership draws & raffles once again on a Friday night.
I, like all of you wish it could be as it was before this crisis, however it could be a long time coming and that is why I am asking you all for your support to help our great club get through. Support the competitions & social games whenever you can, come & have a drink at the club. Every little bit you do will help us get back on our feet again.
Thank you in anticipation, I shall look forward to seeing you at the Heights.

Regards
Ron Price
President
